The Soil Mechanics Laboratory is a long established laboratory, one of the oldest at NTUA. The main laboratory, the Geotechnical Laboratory, is well known for the state of the art advanced testing facilities used for the study of fundamental behaviour of soils and weak rocks. The Teaching Laboratory forms also a part of the Soil Mechanics Laboratory used for laboratory classes and  Diploma and/or Dissertation research projects.
