Testing Facilities

The static and dynamic performance of soil–foundation–structure systems is investigated by reduced scale experiments carried out in the Soil Mechanics Laboratory. The test results are used to improve our understanding of the prevailing mechanisms, and to derive deeper insights on the key factors affecting the performance of soil-structure systems. Remote field monitoring is also developed. Dynamic performance is assessed with the aid of a 2 tons capacity shaking table and equipment includes:

  • The shaking table
  • A fault rupture box
  • A laminar box
  • A sand box
  • A sand raining device
  • A push-over device
  • Remote field monitoring
